Personal brand transitions - a change of focus
I am changing my focus from women’s advancement to personal brand based transitions, be it a new role, a new direction, a new relationship or a new life.
Underlying causes
UIn recent years, I have focused soley on helping senior women, through accessing the energy of their personal brand, to gain the necessary gravitas to operate effectively at senior level. It has worked incredibly well but the many discussions that have been triggered in recent years about why women aren’t making it to the top jobs, has encouraged broader questioning about the underlying reasons for women not being promoted at senior level. Jackson Katz explains this shift in his electrifying TedTalk
Women are not the problem
It has become clear to me that women are not the problem and that we need to find new ways of encouraging men to take this issue on board and be part of the solution. Although I am still passionately interested in helping women succeed and let go of the attitudes that block them, it seems only right to include men in this endeavour. We all need to think about who we are and what we stand for to enable us to transition with energy and insight.
Personal brand transitions
So I am now focusing on personal brand based transitions. Greater clarity on our personal brand allows us to make changes based on greater ownership of our contribution and to enrole others in what we want to achieve.
